§ 644. Boundaries of district may be changed.

  • The boundaries of said district may be changed by decree of the circuit court upon petition for such purpose filed and prosecuted on behalf of a majority of the owners either in number or in acreage of land within said district, as provided for by Laws of Fla. ch. 6458, §§ 1, 2 and 3, Acts of 1913 (Sections 1451, 1452, 1453, Compiled General Laws of Florida, 1927 [see now F.S. ch. 298]), for the creation and establishment of drainage districts; provided, however, that to change such boundaries it shall not be necessary to first obtain the written approval or consent of the owner or owners of a majority in acreage of the lands within said district as embraced within the proposed boundaries; and the procedure for the creation of drainage districts as provided in said Laws of Fla. ch. 6458, §§ 1, 2 and 3 (Sections 1451, 1452, 1453, Compiled General Laws of Florida, 1927 [see now F.S. ch. 298]), except as herein provided, is hereby made applicable for proceedings to change the boundaries of said district.
